About Me

Hi!

This is year twenty for me in the classroom!! I've spent eighteen years at Novi High School in Novi, M , one at Southfield Lathrup High School and one at The American Community Schools of Athens, Greece. I've taught everything from Spanish to Debate to Creative Writing to Public Speaking to English 9, 10,,...I could do this all day.  Currently, I teach AP Language, AP Seminar, and a team-taught class called The Incubator with Computer Science and Business teachers,

I come from a long line of teachers. My mom taught for 30 years, my grandpa taught for 40 years, and I have countless aunts and uncles also in the family business. I grew up as the kid of a woman who was committed to the learning of her other "kids" , and I was surrounded by people who were constantly talking about and planning new things they could try in their classrooms.

Today, as a teacher and a parent, I'm doing the same balancing act. My biological kids know that sometimes mom plays Legos with one hand and grades essays with another, and my kids at school know that sometimes those essays come back graded with special 7 year old crayon artwork on the back because my daughter was "helping" me grade.

I feel fortunate to have a career that I love and a chance to to work with all of these special, interesting, hilarious kids everyday.
